Extravagancy. Ann Demeulemeester is known for her loose, deconstructed silhouettes. Although we can recognize her style and manner, in SS ’14 collection, it surprised with eccentric and unusual details as embroidered tights and sleeves. Leading mixture of classic colours, as nude, black and inserts of red, allows feeling dependent on the basics, but uncontrollable. Demeulemeester is totally about the instinctive, wild, but strict woman. It has strong personality, which is expressed in the way she dresses. Warlike spirit is professionally mashed with romance and seduction, which is brought by gothic kind prints and intricate patterns all over from tights to jackets and dresses. Those headdresses similar to mega bonnets just made the overall picture more extravagant and outstanding. Although this season’s collection was rather dark and gothic, we would call it mysterious and sophisticated eccentricity.
