The organizers of the contemporary art fair ArtVilnius’20 have decided to postpone this year’s event from 27-30 August to 2-4 October. As every year, the event will take place at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Center Litexpo.

The largest visual arts event in Eastern Europe, the international contemporary art fair ArtVilnius, will take place for the 11th time this year. Every year, about 60 galleries and 300 artists from 20 countries take part in the Fair, and more than 20 thousand visitors come from both Lithuania and abroad.

“Many global art fairs have had to move the date to the fall or even next year, some have even moved into the virtual space. Therefore, our team, taking into account the scale of the Fair and the measures to prevent the epidemiological situation, decided that the Fair should be postponed again until the fall”, said Diana Stomienė, head of the art fair and president of the Lithuanian Art Gallerists’ Association.

ArtVilnius’20 is expecting participants from countries such as Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Russia, as well as Austria, etc., with an increased number of galleries from Lithuania. Traditionally, ArtVilnius’20 will offer an abundance of additional events, individual projects, discussions, meetings, educational activities.

Regular Fair’s participant, Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow MOCAK, is also preparing an impressive program. Artists have already been selected to take part in the popular exhibition of sculptures, installations, and performances, Takas. Along with the Fair, the event Night at the Gallery for the fourth time will invite you to visit the so many Vilnius-based galleries and meet artists in one single evening.

The ArtVilnius’20 team continues to work responsibly in preparing the future program of the event, considering that the works presented by the participants of the Fair should be available through modern media to art buyers who are unable to participate in the event.
