I’ve caught myself reading (reading is super good and I love it, but I have this habit called procrastination before trips & luggage packing…) on NY TIMES about first-rowers crossing their legs in the catwalk shows. First paragraph, second… then I saw interview with some fashion expert. Is that really such an important fashion philosophy point? I mean, of course it’s all about showing off, trying not to get tired with this incredible schedule and so on.  But I would love to read about questions. For example, why street style got very similar all over around the world, so predictable during fashion weeks and why some collections are assimilating?  Hmm, I have no answers to that  question.

Another post of NY TIMES about bloggers-billboards just grabbed my attention. We do know fashion is a twisted world – some bloggers get paid, some don’t and who knows what influences that. But did you know that certain bloggers are modeling for a fee? No wonder my last question about predictable street style popped out. I’ll quote a little Tom Julian, the fashion branding expert from NY City: “People still think street style is in a voice of purity. But I don’t think purity exists anymore.” The new bloggers are a new form of product replacement: “These girls are definitely billboards for the brands” – says Julian. So how much can you get paid for this? From two thousand to ten thousands of dollars for an appearance in a fashion house outfit next to the entrance of the fashion show.

So which one of your idols gets paid for his personal street style?

Wow, one girl from school when I lived in Milan told me escorts get… well, compared to this, they get cents. And they are so high paid in Milan. What do you think: is this job ethical or it’s a new reincarnation of a bitch – being a fashion slut? There’re always huge rows of bright and shiny people around during fashion week, but part of them is the paid circus.
