The Flamenco Festival, the premier flamenco event in the U.S., returns from March 1 to 17 for its 23rd edition, featuring 230 artists in 44 performances across New York, Miami, Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington DC. This year’s festival honours Paco de Lucía on the tenth anniversary of his passing and celebrates the Spanish guitar in tribute to Vicente Espinel’s 400th death anniversary, a pivotal figure in the Spanish Golden Age.

Renowned artists like Tomatito, Rafael Riqueni, and Olga Pericet will showcase their talents alongside the Ballet Nacional de España at prestigious venues such as the New York City Center and Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Miguel Marín, director of Flamenco Festival, highlights this edition’s significance, emphasizing its focus on the Spanish guitar and Paco de Lucía’s enduring legacy. The festival will also feature parallel events, including a tribute to Vicente Espinel at the Cervantes Institute and a symposium on Paco de Lucía at the New York University Graduate Center.

With a legacy of over 1,350 performances worldwide, Flamenco Festival remains a cornerstone of Spanish performing arts, providing a global platform for flamenco artists. For tickets and more information about Flamenco Festival New York 2024, visit flamencofestival.org.
