Ukrainian brand ‘Madgie’ was founded in 2014 by Marina Romaniuk in Rovno, Ukraine. Architecture education, work as a fashion photographer, and own business in the retail sphere shaped character of the brand’s owner and influenced her taste and approach to clothing design.

‘Madgie’ SS18 collection is dedicated to the most important object of inspiration for designer Marina Romaniuk – modern woman. The basis of ‘Madgie’; is sensual and sexy perusal of power dressing style. It is a desire to emphasize the feminine strength and determination with the help of elegant and seductive outfits. Strict pantsuits or daring mini, transparent blouses or bright biker jackets, airy ruffles or deep cutouts – any accent will be a sequel of personality.

The collection is permeated with 80-90s aesthetic, the designer sought to express a new personal view on the era through the prism of modernity, which also served as a starting point for experiments during the lookbook shooting. The model demonstrated the collection straight away the sight of two cameras – photographer Yevgeny Kostiuchenko and designer Marina Romaniuk shooting on iPhone. Thus, demonstrating a modern approach to already known concepts.

Madgie’s special pride is fabrics and materials of high quality, embroidery with spangles, beadwork, and sequins made by hand using the crochet de Luneville. The designer prefers natural fabrics and accurate cut. A laconic colour scheme is made with help of the favourite colour – black in contrast to white, putting a new spin on it with a silver gloss.
