FakedCandid – started by two artists from Singapore, XL and Donson. They both have graduated from Glasgow School of Arts with Honours and they are unified by the idea to design marketable visual works of art. Since they have trained in different fields of arts before the university, FakedCandid intends to create well-considered and stylish works with mix-media approach, which became their signature.

Among many of attractive projects, we are going to focus on the “Paint Job”. This project involves a series of fashion-fused still-life images that illustrates the cynical side of a painter’s job. Through these pastels, bright and non-suspicious pictures, authors reveal the other side of painters’ job, the one, which is unseen. During the process the painter is “being suffocated,
squashed, knocked down and wounded – willingly or not”, that what our authors say.

From the first glance cute and soft pictures, hide bigger and more significant meaning overall, and by creating a series of pastel photos with perfect arrangements of objects and elements the FakedCandid team showed us that not everything is as it looks like.
