This collection is, indeed, a uniform for multitaskers. The modular structure of DZHUS products allows modifying garments in numerous ways, including their metamorphosis into accessories. Unified wardrobe items with unprecedentedly extended functionality is DZHUS’ innovative solution for the problem of overconsumption, with a focus on creation, not limitation.
Designer Irina Dzhus is very familiar with the perfectionist urge to “clone oneself”, and the message of the new season has derived from a rhetorical dilemma: is a prototype self-sufficient without a copy, or are those undividable, like and object and its shadow, a form and a counter-form? Replicas and duplicates imitate the original, generating a train of phantomic projections, resembling a freeze of its dynamics. Such synthesis forms a polyphase existence with unlimited kinetic potential. The idea of an object’s stratification as a way to push boundaries of its utility has been implemented in a repetitive pattern of identical details. DZHUS has developed such hybrid styles as shorts/top, shirt/skirt, hat/waistcoat/hood/peplum and a line of bags modifiable into a cardigan, a coat, trousers, bustier, sleeve, jacket and other apparel categories. The variety of bags in the collection is symbolical, and their shape pays honour to recognisable types of packaging, as DZHUS continues to motivate for recycling and choice of reusable containers.
The ethical origin of the textiles is crucial to DZHUS, as the brand transmits the values of cruelty-free fashion.
HYBRID 10-way transforming piece: coat / hat / bag
An architectonic crushed cotton transformer coat with the finest woollen crepe detail and cotton gauze lining. The 2-layered modular hood offers diverse variations of a hat, a kerchief and a yoke. When folded and fastened with metal press studs, the coat turns into an oversized hat or a 2-section shopper bag. The ribbed knit cuffs, gathered with a string, serve as a beanie, a turtleneck collar or a sleeve. The angular shape is achieved using a fabric-covered wooden inset, which is easily removable for a softer fit or cleaning purposes.
IMITATION 2-way transforming piece: bag / sleeve
A dense cotton bag with an adjustable gathering of the top. The bottom seam has a concealed zipper, transforming the bag into a voluminous sleeve.
REPLICA 6-way transforming piece: hat / bag / jacket
An oversized hat transforming into 2 styles of a bag when turned inside out. The cotton straps are adjustable. The ribbed knit cuff gathered with a string, serve as a beanie or a sleeve. When unzipped on the sides and laced, the accessory turns into a tutu-style corset skirt. Made of glossy wool, the piece has light-weight ‘fishbone’ insets keeping the edgy silhouette.
A combo of two REPLICA pieces forms a cocoon-like jacket with a hood option. The fit is fully adjustable using metal zippers.
ANALOGUE 2-way transforming piece: top / bag
A tank top featuring a cut-out bustier detail with a metal underwire. The zippable hem transforms the garment into a weightless yet spacy shopper bag. The piece is made of silk with a distinct finish resembling petrol stains.
OPTION 2-way transforming piece: trousers / bag
Tailored wide trousers transforming into a 3-section tote by fastening the metal zippers. The piece is made of textured silk imitating rug, with the fringe embellishment of the edges. The trousers have a cotton lining and a concealed zipper on the front.
DUPLICATE 3-way transforming piece: shorts / top / suit
A set of 2 pairs of identical textured knit shorts that fasten together, using metal press studs, transforming into a cowl neck t-shirt. A set can also be worn as shorts and an open-shoulder top.
PROJECTION 2-way transforming dress / top
A sleek mini dress/top with architectonic sleeves that transform into a boxy vest, using rubber-coated metal press studs. The dense pleated fabric is shape-keeping and elastic at the same time. The shoulder line is enhanced with a lightweight ‘fishbone’.
STRATIFICATION 16-way transforming piece: hat / bag / vest / peplum / hood / scarf
A double-faced angular transformer piece made of ribbed fabric with Slimtex insulation. Using metal zippers and rubber-coated metal press studs, this design can be styled as a vest, a bolero, a hood, a scarf, a peplum, a bag and a hat. The knit cuffs, gathered with a string, serve as a beanie, a turtleneck collar, a sleeve or a pocket.
MULTITASKER 2-way transforming piece: jumpsuit / bag
An oversized jumpsuit transforming into a spacy 5-section shoulder bag, using metal zippers. The piece is made of textured cotton and wool blend and lined with cotton.
ALTERNATIVE 2-way transforming piece: top / bag
A boxy fit cotton top with a zippable hem, turning the garment into a large handbag. The piece is insulated with dense yet lightweight felt and lined with thin cotton.
REPETITION jumpsuit
A complex cut architectonic jumpsuit with a unique construction of collar details. The dense pleated fabric is shape-keeping and elastic at the same time. The garment fastens with rubber-coated metal press studs on the front.
